2023 Viognier

Pale yellow-gold color with an intense bouquet of orange blossom, honeysuckle, saffron, Anjou pear, tangerine zest, and nectarine. Silky, broad, and unctuous on the palate with precise notes of Meyer lemon, Anjou pear, honeydew melon, tangerine zest, and nuances of smoky minerality and candied ginger. The lees expression from batonnage is contributing to the decadent texture while providing subtle tones of toasted hazelnuts.  This wine offers plenty of energy and richness on the palate with a clean, incisively long finish. This wine is drinking beautifully now but it should benefit from short term cellaring.
